From city-like informal markets in Moscow and the post-war self-urbanization in Kosovo, to the border economies of the Mediterranean and the parallel worlds of today’s burgeoning megacities, these sites confront us with spatial organisation that is unsolicited, unlimited and that opens up an experiential sphere outside prescribed forms of political representation.

Networked Cultures

interrogates the potential of such developments, together with the potential for cultural engagement through a series of conversations with artists, curators, spatial practitioners and theorists.

This event brings these accounts together with a panel of theorists and practitioners. Speakers include Ergin Cavusoglu, artist, Helge Mooshammer, Research Fellow, International Research Centre for Cultural Studies (IFK), Vienna, Peter Mörtenböck, Professor of Visual Culture, Vienna University of Technology and Visiting Fellow, Goldsmiths and Doina Petrescu, Atelier d’Architecture Autogérée, Paris, Irit Rogoff, Professor of Visual Culture, Goldsmiths.

In association with Goldsmiths, University of London

Supported by the Austrian Cultural Forum London

Free, booking essential.
