STEPHEN FREARS IN CONVERSATION

Film and television director Stephen Frears is one of Britain’s foremost screen artists. In addition to major films like The Queen (2006), High Fidelity (2000), Dangerous Liaisons (1988), and My Beautiful Laundrette (1985), he has directed the pioneering TV dramas A Day Out (by Alan Bennett, 1972), Bloody Kids (by Stephen Poliakoff, 1980) and The Deal (by Peter Morgan, 2003). At present he has reunited with Dangerous Liaisons screenwriter Christopher Hampton and star Michelle Pfeiffer to film the Colette novel Cheri.

Recently appointed Visiting Professor in the Department of Media Arts, Stephen Frears will be coming to campus to discuss his work with John Ellis, Mandy Merck and an audience of students and staff. You are cordially invited to take part in this event and the reception afterwards.
