The Impress Prize for New Writers 2009

Finished your exams?  What are you doing this summer?

Impress Books and the Centre for Creative Writing at the University of Exeter would like to invite entries for the Impress Prize for New Writers 2009.  The competition is open to both fiction and non-fiction writers, who have yet to win a mainstream publishing contract.  The winner will receive a publishing contract from Impress Books and a royalty advance of £500.

Andy Brown, The Director at the Centre for Creative Writing and Arts, says;

‘The Competition show cases talent and enables publishers to cherry pick the best new writers UK universities have to offer. Success in the competition gives the writers a great calling card for talks with national agents and editors’.

Carol Fenlon, the 2007 winner, writes;

‘Winning the Impress Prize for New Writers 2007 changed my life … Since Impress Books published Consider the Lilies I have been invited to read at literary festivals, universities, libraries and book discussion groups.
